Ascension of Isaiah 5
1
And in the twentieth year of the reign of Hezekiah, Isaiah saw a vision. And the manner of his vision was this:
2
When the king and the princes and the prophets and the people were sitting together, there came a voice from above, but they did not hear it.
3
And Isaiah fell as though dead, and his breath departed from him, and they thought he was dead, but his soul was with him; it had been taken from him.
4
And his soul was lifted up and he saw the angel who had been sent unto him, standing before his face, whose name was of great glory.
5
And the angel spoke to Isaiah and said: Isaiah, thou hast been permitted by the Lord to ascend hither. I will show thee the vision which it hath been granted thee to see.
6
And Isaiah saw and beheld an angel of great glory, not like the glory of the angels which he had seen in this world, but having great glory and light.
7
And the angel took him and brought him up above the firmament, and he saw there a great struggle of Satan and his powers, who were opposing the righteousness and the piety of those who ascended.
