And the serpent said to him: I fear lest the Lord be angry with me. And the devil said: Fear not. Only become my vessel and I will speak through thy mouth a word whereby thou shalt be able to deceive him.
2
And the serpent hung himself on the wall of the garden, and when the angels ascended to worship God, then the devil appeared in the form of an angel and sang hymns like an angel.
3
And I bent over the wall and saw him like an angel. And he said to me: Art thou Eve? And I said: I am. And he said: What doest thou in the garden? And I said: God set us to keep it and to eat of it.
4
The devil answered through the mouth of the serpent: Ye do well, but ye do not eat of every plant. And I said: Yes, we eat of all except one only, of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, concerning which God charged us not to eat of it, lest we die the death.
