And Michael himself worshipped first, and called me and said: Worship the image of God the Lord. And I answered: I will not worship Adam.

And when Michael compelled me to worship, I said to him: Why dost thou compel me? I will not worship one inferior and younger than me. I am his senior in the creation. Before he was made, I was already made. It is his duty to worship me.

And when the angels who were under me heard this, they also refused to worship him. And Michael said: Worship the image of God. But if thou wilt not worship him, the Lord God will be angry with thee.

And I said: If He be angry with me, I will set my seat above the stars of heaven, and will be like the Highest. And the Lord God was angry with me, and sent me and my angels down from our glory.

And thus we were cast forth on account of thee from our dwelling into this world, and were hurled to the earth. And straightway we were grieved, since we had been despoiled of so great glory.

And we were pained to see thee in such joy and luxury. And with guile I assailed thy wife, and through her caused thee to be expelled from thy joy and luxury, as I have been expelled from my glory.
