A revelation was made to me, brethren, while I slept, by a youth of exceeding fair form, who said to me: Who thinkest thou to be the aged lady from whom thou receivedst the book?
2
I say: The Sibyl. Thou art wrong, he said; she is not. Who then is she? I say. The Church, he said. I said to him: Wherefore then is she aged? Because, he said, she was created before all things; therefore is she aged.
3
The world was established for her sake. And afterwards I saw a vision in my house. The aged lady came and asked me if I had already given the book to the elders.
